Calvià Town Hall continues its steps for the development of a tourist seasonal diversification Plan , which permits to give a boost to the sector towards a delicate economic situation, the appearance of new destinations and the change on the tourist habits and expectations during the last years.

In this concept, it is based on , the presentation of the C1 plot Equipment Basic Plan in Costa d’en Blanes-Portals Nous, to start and make viable the complete restoration project of the tourist areas in Calvià (PRIZTC)(Proyecto de Rehabilitación Integral de las zonas turísticas de Calvià) , to which the autonomic and central administrations continue to ignore, although the Town Hall and the Hotelier Associations in the municipality have asked for their coorporation.

The Equipment Basic Plan will include in between other actions, as announced by the Mayor of Calvià, Carlos Delgado, both , the Calvià Congress Centre and the Contemporary Art Museum (MACC)(Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Calvià), two representative buidings included in the complete restoration of the tourist areas in the municipality preliminary plan. This Equipment Basic Plan approval opens a period to present proposals and viability projects for the administrative concessions which can make possible within their reach, said plan. This will have to include both, the architectonic and museum exhibition project accompanied by a first level display proposal.

The Contemporary Art Museum in Calvià (MACC) is one of the most transcendent cultural projects in the municipality and in Mallorca, Calvià Town Hall´s intention is, to promote the contribution of all resources and immediate necessities for its achievement. MACC should avoid an absence in the Mallorca touristic and cultural offer, such as the lack of a first international level contemporary art museum,able to compete with the other existing Mediterranean and Spanish areas.
